A Mock Drill on Disaster Management
covering two aspects i.e. Earthquake Management and Fire Fighting Practice was
conducting in the Vidyalaya on 27 Aug 2018.
Sh. Rajender Chaudhary, Station Fire Officer Hamirpur was present during
Mock Drill.
First of all Sh. Rajender Chaudhary,
Station Fire Officer Hamirpur addressed the students of Senior Classes and teach them the techniques
to be adopted during Earthquake Management and Fire Fighting Practice. He conducted a hands-on practice session
during his address. The students of senior classes shown keen interest in the
lecture as well as hands-on practice session which proved very useful during
actual Mock Drill conducted soon after the address.
During Earthquake Management session the
students and teachers of all classes hide themselves under the tables. Soon after this practice on a Fire alarm all
the students of the Vidyalaya gathered in the ground. Senior students reached there alogwith Fire
Extinguishers and other fire Fighting Equipments. Station Fire Officer Hamirpur addressed the
entire school there and provided lot of information over Fire Safety. He explained the definition of fire, types of
fire and teaches the methods how to control the different types of fire. He also teaches the techniques / procedures
of first aid to handle the fire injuries and safety measures.
Later on a hands-on practice session was
conducted under Station Fire Officer Hamirpur’s guidance for the students and
teachers by using different types of Fire Extinguishers over different types of
fires. It was really a fine experience
for the students and the staff. The Print media covered the Disaster Management
Drill and find spaces in their daily edition.
